Diamond Carat Weight
Carats are the units of weight for diamonds (often abbreviated to be 'Ct.'). People generally understand the size of a diamond in terms of its weight, to put it simply a 2.00 Ct. diamond is larger than a 1.00 Ct. diamond.
One carat is made up of 100 points and weighs 200 milligrams. The weight of smaller diamonds are often expressed as points, not carats; so a 20 point diamond is 1/5 of a carat or 0.20 Ct.
In Summary;
1 carat = 200 milligrams actual weight
1 carat = 100 points
1/5 carat = 20 points is described as 0.20cts and is 40 milligrams
